Who are the people behind the Digital Assessment working group?

The EPA-based e-portfolio working group consists of the program teams of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Applied Midwifery Science, the Interprofessionalism team, and respective project staff. In total, more than 20 experts and students from various health professions are involved in our working group.

Goals of the Working Group:

The goal of our working group is to develop and implement electronic portfolios (e-portfolios) for workplace-based assessment in the Nursing, Applied Midwifery Science, Dentistry, and Medicine programs. Central to this is providing students with digital assessment of their action competence as a formative feedback tool for learning control. The e-portfolios enable a unified, standardized assessment at geographically dispersed, disconnected practice sites with a large number of students, as well as clinical supervisors, practice guides, and medical supervisors. We utilize a unified digital platform from an external provider that enables cross-program feedback for students.

Workplace Action Competence:

Workplace action competencies are operationalized across programs and professions based on professional activities to be learned and levels of autonomy to be achieved (Entrustable Professional Activities, EPAs). Professional activities representing the respective graduate profiles for the Nursing, Applied Midwifery Science, and Dentistry programs are developed in collaboration with practitioners through a consensus process. For Medicine, existing EPAs for the Internal Medicine and Surgery internships during the Final Year are further elaborated.
